Lead Hat wins auction business Adrian Marshall, 20/11/2000 Lead Hat has won the pitch for a major auction site to be launched in Q1/Q2 2001. Combining Able Commerce's AuctionBuilder product with a customised set of ColdFusion scripts and Microsoft's SQL Server database management system, Lead Hat demonstrated significant cost savings and time-to-market advantages over other competitors. The auction site, with functionality similar to that seen at Sothebys and other major auction houses, will sell paintings and other artworks. Development work on the site starts immediately, with Stage One functionality due end of January 2001.
